Martin and Wesley pick up a Bronze

Many congratulations to Martin (2 legged) and Wesley (4 legged), who passed his KC Bronze working gundog certificate with flying colours.

Martin and Wesley’s story is amazing. 71/2 year old Wesley came into rescue at the start of lockdown in March and spent 12 weeks in Kennels. He had always lived outside and spent his days on a smallholding with his previous owner. Martin & his wife Sarah have always had working dogs, so it seemed like an excellent fit.

Martin says” We bonded very well and quickly, so much so that I had the confidence to enter him into the KC Bronze working test just over 3 weeks later, Wesley passed with a score of 94/100. Brilliant – I’m chuffed to bits as we didn’t really know what he’d done before, but even at his age he’s keen to learn.

He also is a talented gardener, watering plants, moving plants pots round the garden and harvesting tomatoes.

I’m convinced that with more training he will make an excellent working gun dog.”
